FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is upcycled fashion?

Upcycled fashion is the practice of taking existing materials — old clothing, leftover textiles, fabric that would otherwise be discarded — and reworking them into something new, often of higher value than the original. Unlike recycling, which breaks materials down, upcycling keeps the fabric mostly intact and gives it a second life through design and craft. At HighSew, that means a pair of trousers or a worn shirt can become a wallet or a bag — each one shaped by hand, and unlike any other.

What is wearable art?

Wearable art is exactly what it sounds like — art made to be worn or carried, rather than hung on a wall. It sits where craft meets fine art: an object that works as well as it speaks. A wallet, a bag, a piece of clothing, made with the intention and singularity of an artwork rather than the uniformity of a product. What makes it art isn't decoration — it's that each piece is considered, made by hand, and exists on its own terms. At HighSew, it means an everyday object you can actually use, that also happens to be one of a kind.

What is HighSew?

HighSew is a studio in Beer Sheva creating handmade wearable art — wallets, cases, bags, and more made from recycled and upcycled fabrics. Each one is crafted by hand from textiles that already lived one life, reworked with new materials into something you can carry every day.

What are the products made from?

Each piece is made from recycled fabrics — sourced from pre-loved clothing and textiles — combined with new materials. Every fabric is chosen by hand, so each piece carries a bit of history from where it came before.

Are the wallets and bags vegan?

Yes. Every piece is made without leather or any animal-based materials — a vegan alternative to conventional accessories.

Are the pieces one of a kind?

Yes. Each is built from its own combination of fabrics and assembled once. Even pieces that share an outer fabric differ inside, in their details. No two are ever truly the same.

How do I care for my piece?

A gentle wipe when it needs one. We don't recommend machine washing — these are handmade from delicate, repurposed fabrics, and a little care keeps the texture and stitching as they should be.

How long does a handmade wallet like this last?

With everyday use, years. Many pieces have been carried daily for several years and still look the part.

Do you ship worldwide?

Yes, we ship around the world.

How long does shipping take, and what does it cost?

Standard delivery is $25 and takes up to 12 days; Fast Delivery is $40 and takes up to 7 days. Times can shift with location and customs.

What is your return policy?

Full details are on our return policy page. Because each piece is unique, we handle returns personally — if anything's unclear, just reach out.
